Description
Gearwheel 'long' 5th gear with 'X'
This is the version with "X" in standard replacement quality; for 2 valve boxer models with 5-speed gearbox with "X"
This Part is not even available from BMW! Simply replaces the original gear wheel and results in approximately 5% taller gearing. This enhancement will increase your top end speed but also improve your fuel economy at normal traveling speeds. Installation should only be carried out by skilled personnel using special tools.
Made in Germany - top Siebenrock quality.
NOTE:
Starting 04/1982, gearwheels marked "X" with 17,5 Degree gear teeth were used in the gearboxes. Previously, the teeth were at a 15 degree angle. It's important to check what version the transmission gears and shafts are. Since there are differences, the dimensions of these are to be rechecked prior to installation. 15 degree and 17,5 degree gearwheels are not compatible.

A very useful upgrade if you plan to go on long streches of tarmac, lowers the revs by ±500 rpm.
