I find that these are generally only good for one thing - filtering oil. I, myself, am not too good at filtering oil, so I use these.

Perfect fit filter and paper gasket, also the replacement crush washer for the oil drain plug! I didn't need the shim or white O-Ring for my model bike but I'm sure the people that do appreciate it and it is recommended to be changed out with each filter change with those models.
