Positive Battery Cable, to 05/78

After 45 years of fiddling with an assortment of batteries, sizes, and post configurations, I finally broke the connection ring on the battery end of the cable. Since I don't have the tools (or the skills) to replace just the contact ring (and would probably have to remove the whole cable to do that anyway), I decided to just replace the cable with a new one. I received the genuine OEM replacement item that BMW had superseded to fit a number of years and models. The cable is perfect and fits great. Since it is intended for a variety of years and engine configurations, the rubber grommet for where the cable enters the timing cover / starter cover wasn't a perfect fit for my R75/6, but it was easy to trim the grommet back to fit against the starter cover. Alternately, you could order the specific grommet for your model. Like other changes, I'd suggest taking pictures of the existing configuration and routing that you want to reproduce since there are a number of ways to do it wrong. This cable gave me an easy fix to a self-inflicted problem that I had really worried about. Thanks!
