** Starting 4 / 1982, gearwheels marked "X" with 17,5 Degree gear teeth were used in the gearboxes. Previously, the teeth were at a 15 degree angle. It's important to check what version the transmission gears and shafts are. Since there are differences, the dimensions of these are to be rechecked prior to installation. 15 degree and 17,5 degree gearwheels are not compatible.

This Part is not available from BMW. Finely-grounded. Honed version for quiet operation. Installation only by skilled personnel using special tools.
