JMT Gel Battery

Just installed this yesterday and so far it seems to be a strong cranking battery. The JMT gel battery is about a half an inch shorter and about a half an inch wider than the Interstate AGM battery it replaced. This made for a perfect fit in the battery tray and left enough top clearance for the under seat storage box to fit properly. The battery I received did not have the connections shown in the web site image with top side and engine side mounting points (this is the same connector layout on the battery I am replacing). The JMT battery I received had a flat post on each side with a through hole from the right to left side. Positive and negative connections are made to these posts using the two supplied 6mm bolts and nuts. This required minor routing changes for some of my wires and I had to extend the ground wire for my accessory socket connection. Once everything was connected, it had a much better layout with all wires coming off the battery in the same direction. This allowed me to use the post covers included with the battery to keep connections clean and protected from unintended contact with a battery terminal. Overall I'm very pleased with this battery..... once I got all the connections sorted out.

Battery fit prefect and the small clip on handle works great. Could tell the difference with this battery right away, turn singles worked better, starter cranked much better. Volt meter was very stable. Works great in my 83 R100RT
