Description
Sport 'S' Handlebars
This is a reproduction of the classic "S" style handlebar that was installed on the R90 S and subsequent S models. It's a very nice bar that has a comfortable rise and wrist angle.
Made in Germany.
Note: This is a 22mm chrome plated bar, not a 7/8" bar. 22mm is the correct size for BMW motorcycles and though 7/8" seems close to 22mm, it's in fact slightly larger and the controls will not fit.
This handlebar is not drilled for heated grips. You can still install heated grips but you will need to drill the appropriate holes.

The bars are installed ( they are great) but required grinding, filing and sanding in order to fit inside bar controls. The difference between 7/8" and 22mm is less than .010 but it's the difference between go and no go. Too much chrome?

Purchased the sport s handlebars for my 71 R60/5. Very nice bars, chrome is outstanding and a good fit for the bike. I think my only critique would be the bar ends. It's a 22mm bar but, on the end where they are cut, it flares to .873 in diameter. this caused a bit of difficulty sliding on the BMW controls. I had to pry open the gap on the controls pretty wide to get them on. Once you get by that first 1/2 inch of bar they slide right on. The bars are great ! I would highly recommend them for your next bar swap.
